Posie Came To My House

okay, maybe not THE Posie of Posie Gets Cozy.  But an envelope of goodies from her.

It is the Santa Lucia Doll Kit!  I have to say thank you to my mother, thank you!  She ordered it for me!  Plus, wish her a Happy Birthday!  I got the goodies on her day!

The postcard and packaging are just gorgeous!  It is going to be hard to open it.  However, I think I will be able to manage it. 

I have had company all day so I did not get to play.  I bet I stay up late and visit my favorite blogs and make dolls!  Sounds like a good plan to me!

A Little of This and a Little of....

YaYa on her machine embroidered blankie.  Don't you just think House Mouse is the cutest? It is one of my favorite embroidery cards.

We have a little bug so we are not straying too far from the couch.  Just so you do not have the wrong impression, YaYa does not stray too far on a good day either.

Vintage coke Santa's are the cutest.  Very smart of coke to do the retro thing again.  (Thanks to my son for holding off on drinking them until I could take a semi-decent picture.)

Gotta love going to Mom's.  I always load up on the vintage goodies from my family.  These are too wonderful.  I am on a search for the missing shaker now.  Look out ebay!   

A Few Pounds Heavier

After driving through a horrendous rain storm Wednesday night, we arrived at my Mother's.  She had told us there might be a few extra guests.

Well, here they are.  KooKeys, the latest craze around here.  Think Beanie Babies.  She managed to snag some before they officially go on sale, Dec. 1.  One for each of my boys.  Of course, she did not leave me out.  I got the monkey, which I named KiKi.

Can anyone tell that my Mother might need reading glasses?  Ummm, just a hint, in case she pops in.  Thank goodness she does not leave comments, it might get ugly.  I have to brag and say, she is the best cook, hence the few extra pounds.

This is one of many delicious desserts she had.  But, this one cracked me up!  Does it remind you of anything?

Black Friday was spent at Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby - do you catch the trend?

Well, we are home safe and sound.  Just a bit heavier.  I cannot wait to get everything tidied up and hit my favorite blogs.  I have missed them more than I care to admit!

I am thankful for so much this year.  I am especially thankful for all of my new blog friends.

A Kidston Kinda Day

I am a huge fan of any and all things by Cath Kidston.  Ironically, I received both her catalog (this is a hint for certain family members, ha ha) and her Dream Home Book in the mail today!

Well, of course new a catty and book require an embroidered tote bag!  Please, excuse the hoop marks.

I love vintage signs and old Singers, a combination of the two is wonderful .  Of course, it was on sale so it had to come live with me.  I can't let you peek inside, just in case a certain someone (with a birthday coming up) has prying eyes.  A picture of the finished product will be available after the big day.

Christmas Balls

I made these with my machine embroidery machine.  You just embroider on clear vinyl, insert them into the glass balls and glue at the top.  Oh, I attempt to not say too many bad words when trying to straighten out the vinyl once inserted.  Yeppers, I am so getting into the mood of the season!!  Please forgive the bad pics, I did not want to wait to take daylight photos.

Poor Pitiful Sausage Finger

I adore paper kits of all kinds.  I fell in love with this kit and had to bring it home.  Almost homemade gift tags!!  Look no cutting!  You will understand the enthusiam after reading the next paragraph.

I wanted to post the things that I have sewn over the last few days, however, that did not happen.  Instead, I can brag that I have almost completed my Christmas shopping.  I do have a stack of templates and a very sore cutting finger to show for my work.  I drew the pictures and then cut and cut and cut and cut (oh you get the idea).  In Kindergarden that was a fun activity.  Now that I am old(er) I get a swollen finger, and a husband that has suggested that I buy a pair of electric scissors.  Is that pitiful or what? 

Great Colors and Good Food

No creating for me yesterday.  We went to look at the last of the fall colors and then to a fabulous 50's themed restaurant.  It was supposed to have been sunny, um... that did not happen.  But, it was a great day anyway.  The only downside was when I almost jumped out of the jeep, and fell over with a heart attack.  We were riding alongside a barge, when he blew his horn, loudly I might add.  Nope, not one of my more graceful moments.  However, lots of entertainment for the boys.    

Inspiration Eye Candy

Happy day at the bookstore for me!  Yahoo!  Inspiration eye candy is a fantastic thing at my house.  I have spent the day baking.  While things were in the oven, I started doing some serious planning for the holidays.  I know it seems that I am starting too soon.  I can't help it, I get in a good mood just thinking about the excitement of the season and of course the food!  It is time to go perch myself somewhere quiet with my books and supplies.  If anything good comes out of it, I will post pictures.  However, I get the feeling I may do more drooling than crafting tonight.

A Softie Start

I love, love, love this book!  It is  Softies: Simple Instructions for 25 Plush Pals by Therese Laskey.  See the Softie Blog here Softies Central.  Also, look here for the blog post by Alicia Paulson, Posie Gets Cozy: Paulson's Back on the Field.  This dress is her design and it is the cutest thing!!!  I just started making my first dress (with the pink and green fabrics on the left) and it is so much fun, I have to get back to it.  Happy me, going to create now!
